What Has become of The Preterist Perspective - Setting The Record Straight
Since the founding of Planet Preterist those of us involved with the site have tried to form a site that informs and treats all Christians equally with the same voice. In recent months, I have been amazed and stunned by the venom that has been spewed by some in the "preterist perspective". These individuals have taken quotes out of context, tried to sway others to spew venom and continue to bandmouth fellow Christians over and over. All this while never ever picking up the phone to give someone a call and discuss things like Christians and men of God. It is just unbelievable what some will do to harm others all in the name of Christ.I just listened to the discussion from a certain website pertaining to a "Mr. X". Now we are all adults and it is no secret that these individuals are discussing Virgil Vaduva in the "conversation". To begin with I am not even certain how to respond to this. Is it worse that they have dedicated an entire episode to badmouth a fellow Christian or that they have taken various events and statements out of context? In the end it really doesn't matter. I really feel sorry for them. I believe that they are so blinded by hate that they can't see the damage that they are doing to themselves and others around them.
Let me provide the reader with some background. I have known Virgil Vaduva for almost 14 years. I attended a university in Ohio and met Virgil my first quarter after I transferred to the school. It just so happened that that particular day I sat right next to Virgil. The first thing that struck me about this fella next to me, was that he was using a little handheld english dictionary to help him understand what the professor was saying. We started to talk a bit and through his broken English, I found that he had left his family in Romania to come to the US to study and learn. I was impressed by the guts he had to go so far away to such a small school in the middle of Ohio. From that day on, he and I became good friends.
What saddens me by these constant attacks on Virgil is that I know Virgil pretty well. I know that he is a solid, Bible believing Christian with all the best of intentions. I know that Virgil has spent thousands of dollars on the Planet Preterist, books and Preterist materials. I know that what he has done the past few years to get the message of Preterism to as many people as possible was done for one reason, love. It may seem hard to find this in our movement as of late, but love is a strong motivator and it is what motivates Virgil Vaduva.
I'm sure this blog will probably be quoted out of context or even picked apart. So be it. I know who Virgil Vaduva is and he is not what some would say that he is. He would be the last person on the planet to say he is the "leader" of preterism or try to position himself for "the money that would come later from the movement".
I also have seen from the sidelines how one particular person, we will call him "Mr. Y" was asked over and over to tone down the personal attacks on the Planet Preterist aritcles discussions. I was there when "Mr. Y" attended the TruthVoice conference in 05 and was invited to have supper with all the speakers after the conference. I was there when "Mr. Y" wrote a scathing review of the conference the very next day right after having dinner with the same people that he criticised. I was there when the volunteers met and discussed that the attacks had crossed the line. I was there when WE the volunteers on the web site decided that the personal attacks were not what we wanted on the site. Planet Preterist is a site where mulitple views should be shared and discussed without personal attacks. If you are comfortable with the truth, than you should not be afraid to enter the "arena of ideas".
Now I don't know "Mr Y", but I do know Virgil Vaduva and he does not see himself as the leader of the "Preterist Movement" and he is not an evil being that has hijacked preterism. Most of all, he is NOT a Universalist.

A Few Thoughts on TruthVoice 2005
This being my third year to help in the planning and execution of the TruthVoice Conference, it has been amazing to see how God has worked to develop this event. This year was ,IMHO, the best year yet. Topics were discussed, tears were shed, laughter was heard and we all grew spiritualy from the experience. Even now I am almost overwhelmed by what God accomplished this year. When we began planning this years event, I felt strongly that we needed to be able to offer the conference free of charge to all who could attended. I was convinced that God would provide the resources for the event. That being said, anyone who has worked to plan a large event knows just how many resources are necessary in both time and money. I knew this would test all of our faith and so I asked God that if he wanted us to provide the conference for free, he would convince all of us involved. To my amazement (yes I shouldn't have been surprised, but I always am when God moves in a direction) both Virgil and Kyle wholeheartedly agreed that we should make the conference free.
Now that the conference is complete. I am still stunned by the outpouring of resources that God provided through those in attendance. Not only were all of our expenses covered, but God provided over and above what was required, giving us resources for next year and other projects like the open Bible project. I am convinced that God wanted us to take a leap of faith so he could show us just how much he cares about the work that Planet Preterist has taken on. He didn't just meet our needs, he opened the flood gates and showered us with blessings in so many ways. God is good! I absolutely can't wait to see what he has in store next.
Thanks to all of those who helped with the conference this year! I'm sure you feel grateful as I do that God allowed you to be a part of something so special!

This Call May be Monitored
This article makes you think twice about what goes on in your house when you are waiting on hold. From personal experience, I know that I heard a lot of interesting things myself in college when I worked at a local McDonalds. Many people didn't realize that we could hear pretty much everything that went on in a given car from the instant the car pulled up. Needless to say, we heard a lot of interesting things. The New York Times > Business > Your Call (and Rants on Hold) Will Be Monitored

Is it possible to become invisible?
Take a look at the article below. It notes several attempts that are underway to make an object invisible. The idea sounds like it has merit to me and may one day make it possible to make an objet invisible in normal light. I guess now we just need to find a purpose for this other than to cloak a Romulan ship. :)news @ nature.com-Engineers devise invisibility shield-Electron effects could stop objects from scattering light.
