I'm Stephen Douglas, and this blog is for me. Not you.
Not that I don't want your input. I just don't want anyone to think, "Ransom's just blogging because he thinks people need to hear the things he says," because that's not necessarily true. I hope anyone who reads it will profit, but if I come off sounding like I'm preachy on inconsequential points, just recognize that they're not inconsequential to me. If I sound like I'm trying to be controversial, it's not necessarily because I want to be controversial, but because I felt that having a blog would feel a little less like I am just talking to myself. I need a sounding board, and if you happen to get within earshot and have something to say for or against what you hear, I'll be honored. I'm sure I'll profit from your input.

Well, Virgil, I suppose you're right. I was trying to work through my own reasons for blogging. See, there's just a level of presumption that I associate with blogs in general: the audacity that bloggers must have to assume that anyone cares what they think about anything! But yet we blog. I blog. And that's because if anyone reads it, surely they must have at least a modicum of interest in my opinions. So here we go!
Which is why I never expect people to read m blog...I look at it as a plece to vent myself...and if other people happen to read the stuff, then hey..that's twice as good.
