One of the attributes of American culture is the elevated sense of "thanksgiving".

When approached through humility of mind, it tends to promote inner peace, joy of life, and may overt depression.

Thanksgiving without ceasing is so very, very underestimated. It can take the form above, as well as other less visible forms. All forms however represent IMHO a reality check on our behalf. "Thank you Lord".
