Tag? I suck at playing tag!

Ok, I am new to this blog tag game, but Nathan (The Confessor) tagged me, so I am it...and I have to share with you folks five of the my favorite contemporary theology books, so here it goes (and this is by no means easy):

- The Cross and the Parousia of Christ by Max King (the ultimate 20th century revolution in the understanding of biblical prophecy)

- Velvet Elvis: Repainting the Christian Faith by Rob Bell

- Generous Orthodoxy by Brian McLaren

- The Inner Kingdom by Bishop Kallistos Ware

- Free of Charge: Giving and Forgiving in a Culture Stripped of Grace by Miroslav Volf

And the bonus book:

- Jesus and the Victory of God (Christian Origins and the Question of God, Volume 2) by N.T. Wright

Now I tag Jared, Kyle, Mick, Jamie (my wife) and Jamie (of Morethanstone).

Virgil,

You didn't see that I tagged you too...a different tag game then this, though, so get to work!

Virgil,

I'm playing around with the idea of posting a succinct review of Rob Bell's book (after I read it for a second time). But before I do that, I plan on emailing a copy to Rob first (once it's written, of course).

Still trudging my way through McLaren's book.

Haven't read King's book yet. That one requires some dedicated reading time, dude.

Virgil - did you ever pick up a copy of "Love, Acceptance and Forgiveness" by Jerry Cook? or do I need to "donate" a copy?<G>

David, nope not yet. Feel free to send me a copy if you have one to spare. You are coming up here in April right?

Mike - send me the review so we can post it for the public when it's done.

Max King's book is a must read for anyone remotely interested in reconsidering his eschatology. Also remember that Max met with N.T. Wright years ago and had a fairly lengthy discussion regarding Preterism; I would even suggest that some of N.T. Wright's leaning towards Preterism is due to Max's influence.

It's hard to get away these days. Too much going on - we'll let you know... Now if you asked me to present...<G>
